The task for this project was to create a poster for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Art, Art History, and Design Department that was meant to draw in prospective students to the program. In order to accomplish this, I decided to go with the idea that being in this department is a unique experience that makes you stand out among your peers. To illustrate this, I used the metaphor of one fish sticking out among the “plenty of fish in the sea.” The muted colors for the “other” fish make the blue fish seem unique and more elevated in comparison, indicating to viewers that students in the Art, Art History, and Design Department are also this way.
